Our First Home!

My little piece of history for today says to tell about our first home as a couple. Our first home was a little one bedroom basement apartment in Orem. The landlords were actually relatives of Wyatt's Brother. It consisted of a kitchen, family room, our bedroom, bathroom(with combined laundry room). The bathroom had a huge red Tub, and matching red sinks. I decorated it in a watermelon theme. It was cute! When we first moved in there weren't any cabinets in the kitchen(can you imagine that?) We purchased some, and Wyatt installed them himself. The kitchen also didn't have a dishwasher, which I actually lived without one for the first 6 years of our marriage.(Such a hardship) We had fun in our little place, and celebrated our first holidays there, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Valentines Day. The rent was cheap. Wyatt worked at Geneva Steel. His shift was the 6-3 shift. So I would just sleep in until around 9 or 10, cleaned the apartment, shop a little, and then he would be home. Life was pretty simple! We purchased our first home, about 9 months after we were married. That's my little piece of history for today.
